Lucas’ Garden- Tithe Barn School, Heaton Moor
This is a special tribute garden in memory of seven-year-old Lucas Garrity. The garden has been designed with Lucas’ parents, Karen and Damyon Garrity, to be built at Lucas’ school (Tithe Barn School in Heaton Moor) to honour their son.
Our vision is to develop a child friendly community garden with outdoor learning, which is fun and educational in an interesting environment. It will feature a rainbow path made up of coloured glow-in-the-dark discs which will illuminate the edge of the path like stars in the night. With additional lighting making the garden available for use in the evenings, this is a way of remembering Lucas and creating a lasting legacy for others to enjoy. The space aims to be a special pupil and community garden which the children can use during and after school for outdoor learning and play activities.
This garden is still in the process of being built, look out for updates on the stunning finished product.
The Savoy Cinema, Heaton Moor
Planting can enhance the frontage of any business place and this planting plan for the newly refurbished Savoy Cinema in Heaton Moor brings life to the entrance and reflects the style of the refurbishment itself. We have used dark stained wood planters mix well into the branding’s colour scheme and textured details in the planters themselves to reflect the buildings architecture and art-deco feel of the cinema. A mixture of sturdy evergreens and seasonal features in the planting keep the boxes fresh and interesting all year around.
Damson, Heaton Moor- Terrace garden
The idea for the Damson Terrace Garden was to improve the dining experience for customers by creating a space that would bring the restaurant ambiance “outside”. The result was a vibrant and striking outdoor space where customers can eat, drink and enjoy the outdoors while at the same time allowing customers to have a level of privacy.
Holyrood Nursery, Astley- garden for active and imaginative play
The client wanted a completely new design for the grounds surrounding Holyrood Nursery in Astley which offered a space for imaginative, creative and active play. Through the use of organic materials and nature itself as a learning tool, there are endless opportunities in this nursery outdoor space for the children to engage with the natural world.
The garden features outdoor learning zones, bug hotels, mud kitchens, sand pits, a wildlife pond and a tree house- to mention just some of the facilities which make it an exciting and adaptable space for learning and play.
